Living alone has a number of effects on the well-being of older adults.  As noted by the National Institute on Aging, studies show that it can impact physical health by increasing the risk of heart disease  and infections, while raising the rates of depression and premature cognitive decline. The 2023-2025  Community Health Needs Assessment for Santa Fe from CHRISTUS St. Vincent concluded that social isolation is one of the three priority health indicators selected to represent older adult needs.  

Coming Home Connection is constantly working to bring solutions to our community that will reduce isolation and loneliness.  Here are a few stories of older adults who were helped through our programs and volunteers. There is more work to be done, but we continue to be grateful for our partners and  financial supporters.  Thank  you for caring and being part of the solution.
